Take Me To Your World

“Take me to your World” is a 7-day long theatre project for scholars from the age of 12. Led by a group of four professional performing artists and highly-skilled coaches, the students go on a  journey, discovering the endless possibilities of Music, Dance and Drama in order to become the authors, composers and choreographers of their own musical theatre piece. The coaches help the group explore their potential,  engaging with their world to create something truly unique and to fearlessly express themselves in front of an audience. Personal exchange, communication and team spirit are important pillars in this exciting project. The project is rounded off with a public performance.

The aim of our project “Take me to your world" is to build bridges between young people of different cultures, countries and religions. We want to celebrate our similarities, while embracing our differences. At the center, however, stands every single youngster taking on the challenge of telling their story, defending their values and expressing themselves, all while speaking the universal language of art.

International Performance Workshops at Schools

I am a great supporter of interdisciplinary teaching methods. The inclusion of  performing arts in the classroom encourages students to approach topics from another point of view, giving them the chance to grasp an idea with their whole being. Subjects like History and Languages are greatly aided by an emotional relationship with the topic; Mathematics and Science require an understanding of space and connection; Music and Art are stories that are being told. Having worked as a teacher in middle and high school, I have come to realise how out-dated most teaching methods have become. The addition of digital technology may have made it easier and less of a hassle to learn certain things, but have created even more distance between body and mind. I have attended numerous international conferences and workshops on the matter and have found that schools are slowly starting to open up to these “new” ideas. In our work with over 20 000 students thusfar, my colleagues Marie-Sylvie Schneider, Daniela Dinnes and I have come up with a project that aims not only to encourage learners to look at their education from a new perspective, but also inspires teachers to expand on their teaching methods. Hence, we created a project called “Take me to your World”.

Zeig Mir Deine Welt
